The artist eventually puts down the brush.
The paint dries.

That is not where
the story ends.

A work leaves the artist.
It enters the world.

Someone stops in front of it.
Something happens.
They remember it.

The painting has acquired a witness.

Then it enters a room.

It witnesses mornings.

Dinners. Arguments. Birthdays.

Visitors. Children growing.

People leaving.

Eventually, the room
remembers the painting too.

The work has not changed.

The story
has a place.

Rooms, passages, walls — the collection is hung, not displayed.

Kunssinnig is not a white cube. The richness belongs to the art; the restraint belongs to us.

Every painting
has a past.

Some stories have to be uncovered.

Authentication assessment, professional valuations, provenance investigation, specialist physical examination and technical analysis — including X-ray-supported examination where appropriate. X-ray can reveal underlying structure, materials and alterations; it contributes evidence to a broader assessment rather than proving authorship on its own.

Authentication & valuations

Llewellyn Kruger International Art Brokers

Llewellyn Kruger has worked in the South African art trade for more than four decades — brokering original South African works, sourcing for collectors, carrying out valuations, and assessing provenance and authenticity. Much of that knowledge was gathered in the market itself: in towns across the country, in private collections, and in front of the paintings.
