Michael Albertyn

Biography

Michael Albertyn is a South African landscape painter born in 1938 in Kimberley. Trained under local artists including Victor Visser, he is known for his luminous, wide-ranging depictions of African and American scenes. Albertyn's paintings emphasize natural light and vibrant color, often portraying wilderness and community life. In 2010 he mounted an “African Visions” show in the U.S. that featured his South African landscapes. He has also painted California coastal vistas and wildflower fields, reflecting his bi-continental influence. Across his career, Albertyn's optimistic, impressionistic landscapes have made him popular with collectors who appreciate warm, radiant scenes.
